Hovercraft Handling Agent (Southsea)

It takes a special kind of person to get our customer journeys off to a flying start. As a Hovercraft Handling Agent you will be the face of the Hovertravel Brand. Guiding and assisting our customers at the terminal in Southsea, as well as on board our hovercraft. It's all about enhancing the customer experience. Your dedication, passion and resilience to deliver outstanding customer service will shine through in everything you do.

Events & Experiences Co-ordinator (Ryde)

As the only scheduled commercial passenger hovercraft service in the world we need to elevate our current experience proposition. This is a real opportunity to create a significant additional revenue stream through a calendar of new events.

You will be responsible for continuing to evolve the experiences, excursions and charters planning an annual events and experiences for promotion by the commercial team. Creativity for new experiences is encouraged and having a can-do and hands-on attitude to ensure all experiences and events are aligned with the company values, is essential.

The role will require a dynamic individual who is driven and comes with experience of successful event planning and organisation to quickly jump on board and recognise the opportunities to build on this exciting area of the business.

You will be creative, proactive and self-motivated in driving sales for events and all experiences with the role incorporating both the initial planning process of events and experiences, and sales conversion.

The successful candidate will have

  • Further Education/Higher education relevant degree and proven experience in similar role within busy events environment
  • English, Maths GCSE c or over, NVQ level 2 business or tourism related or equivalent experience
  • Previous events coordination or planning is required for attractions and/or in a hospitality environment
  • Self-motivated with initiative and drive to successfully achieve targets
  • Effectively communicate, maintain and develop client relationships therefore retaining existing business and developing new opportunities
  • Manage operational and administrative functions required to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of specific projects

We are looking for a candidate who is

  • Personable, presentable and articulate individual
  • Well organised with excellent time management & problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and with teams
  • Confidence and flexibility to occasionally travel within the UK

We're currently recruiting a master to join our team of dedicated pilots.

In order to take command of a hovercraft on this route, an individual must hold one of the following STCW95 Certificates of Competence (CoC);

  • Master II/2 or 11/3, (Unlimited, <3000GT, or <500GT)
  • Master II/3, limited to "Hovercraft less than 500GT on near-coastal voyages only"
  • Appropriately qualified seafarers may apply to obtain this CoC issued by the MCA under STCW regulation II/3 as stated in MGN1856 and with reference to Annex D therein. In recognition of this, applications will be welcomed from holders of: Chief Mate II/2 or II/3 (Unlimited, or 3000GT)
