Quarr Abbey

Quarr Abbey is a Catholic Benedictine Monastery in a beautiful and peaceful setting. The Abbey is the home of Benedictine monks who worship god in the Abbey church regularly through the day. Visitors are always welcome to attend the services.The community follow the Rule of Saint Benedict, which outlines a balanced life of prayer, spiritual reading and work. Bookbinding, beekeeping, painting and writing are among the tasks undertaken.

Shanklin Chine

Visit this famous leafy gorge, the Island’s earliest attraction - much loved by poets, artists and writers. The winding path, with its steep sides, a magical place for rare plants, woodland, wildlife (red squirrels) and enchanting waterfalls, the stream winds its way to the sea.

Dinosaur Isle

In a spectacular pterosaur shaped building on Sandown's blue flag beach is Britain's first purpose build dinosaur museum. The building displays many fossilised and life sized reconstructions of the Island's dinosaurs. Although a new building, the large collection of dinosaur and other fossils from the Island has its origins in 1819.
