Hoverwork Hovercraft Manufacture

Hoverwork is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hovertravel, specialising in the provision of high speed amphibious hovercraft and related hovercraft expertise on a worldwide basis.

Hoverwork is the world’s leading specialist in the design and manufacture of large, commercial grade hovercraft. Along with our parent company Hovertravel, we are also the world’s longest established commercial hovercraft operators and have accumulated more experience of operating amphibious craft than any other commercial organisation.

As well as the design and manufacture of hovercraft, Hoverwork provide a complete operator service including hovercraft refurbishment and maintenance and charter. Our UK manufacturing, engineering and operational base is located at St Helen’s on the Isle of Wight.

In June 2007, Hovertravel launched a third and larger craft to the cross-Solent service. The new BHT 130, 70 tonne craft was the first hovercraft to be designed and built entirely by Hoverwork. The BHT 130 is capable of speeds in excess of 45 knots and seats 130 passengers.

Passengers will notice the much more spacious interior with wider aisles. The craft's increased size and power provides greater passenger comfort and reliability on days of adverse weather.

The two existing craft also in operation are two powerful amphibious diesel AP1-88/100 hovercraft, each capable of carrying 95 passengers across the Solent.

As well as Hovertravel’s Isle of Wight service, Hoverwork supports charter operations and special services around the world for other operators. It has experience in more than forty countries worldwide, from the Amazon Jungle to the Arctic, from the deserts of the Middle East to the islands of Australia and Papua New Guinea. Few places have been untouched by Hoverwork.
