The biggest 80’s festival to rock the Isle of Wight is back for another year!

Hold on to your 80s ra-ra skirts for a little while longer and don’t chuck your roller boots away just yet, as the Isle of Wight is gearing itself up for another family friendly festival!

Back for a fifth year, the purpose of Jack Up The 80's remains the same, to raise valuable awareness and funds for Island charities and good causes.

So get ready to don your ‘Choose Life’ t-shirts, florescent headbands and leg warmers for a weekend of reminiscing about Sony Walkmans, video recorders and listening to your favourite bands on your treasured radio cassette.

We think you’ll all agree the ticket price is amazing value! Jack Up The 80s have done their upmost to keep ticket costs as low as possible to ensure families have a first class weekend.

PLATFORM ONE COLLEGE OF MUSIC - Welcomed to Jack Up The 80s..

Platform One College of Music have been invited to host their very own stage at this year’s Jack Up The 80s. Following on from their success at the recent Isle of Wight Festival, the Platform One students are more than ready for action!

‘We are delighted to be asked to programme a bespoke Platform One Stage at Jack Up the 80s. We are always looking at new opportunities for young musicians, artists and bands and this is yet another significant chance for young people to showcase their talent – it is a privilege to be involved.’

David Pontin – Director, Platform One

This new stage will host a range of music from acoustic acts, tribute acts and original bands. The focus will very much be on young Island artists. Students have been working hard to develop a number of high-quality tribute bands  including the likes of Ed Sheeran, Nivana, Adele, Bruno Mars, Fleetwood Mac and Red Hot Chilli Peppers. The stage will also feature several emerging bands currently making a name for themselves on the Isle of Wight music scene.

The Platform One stage will be located in the brand-new Chill Out area at Jack Up The 80’s all new venue, Smallbrook Stadium in Ryde. The intension is to offer somewhere to relax beside the white picket fences in the open countryside, enjoy the natural shade of the hedgerows whilst listening to new musical talent. Event organisers said;

‘The Chill Out area offers a little bit more choice for those who would like it whilst enabling Jack Up The 80s to slowly grow and continue moving forward. As well as bringing audiences fantastic music from household names and chart acts we are keen to both support and celebrate home-grown Island talent.’

Wave 105 will be hosting a specially themed cocktail bar in the same location plus there will be kids rides and inflatables, Vintage Island Amusements, catering and refreshments as well as the return of the incredibly popular festival farm!

Jack Up The 80s make a cheeky announcement..

Guaranteed to get the party started, organisers of Jack Up The 80s have announced that global hit makers The Cheeky Girls will appear at their Smallbrook Stadium event this August.

There’s an opportunity to get a selfie with two of the most recognisable girls in Europe when Romanian-born pop duo and twin sisters Gabriela and Monica Irimia take part in a meet and greet and perform a couple of songs at the event’s brand new opening party night on Friday 11th August.

The disco party will be headlined by Number One ABBA tribute band Abba Chique and features a DJ set from Wave 105’s Steve Power. Gates open from 7pm until late. It’s the ideal extension to what’s gearing up to be the most memorable weekend of the Summer season. The Cheeky Girls rose to fame following an appearance on Popstars: The Rivals, leading to the release of the smash-hit, Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum), which has sold more than 1.2 million copies worldwide.
